Session 1 - Connected Leader
Central message of session 1: To become a Christian leader, we must first and foremost prioritise being a connected follower of Jesus.

Explore the Practicing the Way resources, including completing a ‘Spiritual Health Reflection’ and completing a ‘Rule of Life’ to help build healthy rhythms as you seek connection with Jesus. Also, check out their Podcast, available everywhere.
Sacred Pathways Book
Discover what sacred pathway works best for you and even try out one that might not come naturally to discover more of God’s vastness. This book is available to buy everywhere and is also available digitally on Perlego (with subscription).
Prep Before Venture
It’s great that you are part of our Young Leader Development Venture. It promises to be a wonderful time as we seek to grow in leadership for the whole of life. Below are some resources to help prepare you before you arrive. We will also be adding resources after the event to help keep you going! Also, have a look at the kit list for packing purposes!

Theme
Our teaching programme for 2025 will draw on material and themes from Youthscape’s Young Leader Essentials resource. Each of you will be sent a copy of the Young Leader Essential Handbook and some of the material will be used in small group sessions.
We have drawn out several of the key themes from this resource and added other elements to each session to provide a rich diet of input and opportunities to reflect.
Preparation
To help you get the most out of the Venture, please complete the following by Sunday 13th July:

Although the questions relate specifically to a youth group setting, they have relevance and application to wider life and leadership so answer as best you can - bring your results to the Venture
2) The Google Form with mentoring questions to help us match you to an appropriate Danehill leader for a one to one chat on the Venture - One to one prep
